IV. References and Credential Verification
References are critical in understanding the candidate’s performance and evaluating his/her fit into the culture of the new organization. In addition to speaking with supervisors, we contact colleagues, subordinates and others "off the list." Academic credentials and accreditations are verified. Detailed written reports are prepared and furnished to our client.
V. The Final Choice
Our client makes the final choice. Our responsibilities are to bring forward well-qualified and interested candidates, and to move the process forward. Our client is able to choose from a strong pool of talented candidates, each of which offers unique strengths to our client's organization.
We assist in the negotiation of the offer or, if our client prefers, we will conduct the negotiations, always keeping in mind that while we have a responsibility to the candidate we have attracted, our primary responsibility is to our client.
Because we have developed a close relationship with candidates, we are in a position to resolve issues that may arise when he/she has concerns about family, relocating or leaving his/her current organization. We assist the candidate in facilitating the successful transition into the new organization.
We are committed to work with our client until the engagement is successfully completed.
VI. Professional Fees and Expenses
We work on a retainer basis with our fee for professional services calculated as a percentage of the total first year’s estimated cash compensation. Our fee is invoiced in three equal monthly installments (at inception, after presentation of candidates and after successful completion) plus we are reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses incurred on behalf of the engagement.
If the engagement is canceled within the first three months, we charge only the pro-rata portion of our fee plus out-of-pocket expenses up to the date notice of cancellation is received.
Reimbursable expenses include travel, lodging and meals, telephone and fax, copying and delivery charges. No major expenses are incurred without our client's prior approval.
VII. Guarantee
If the successful candidate does not meet client specifications or standards of performance within the first year, we will repeat the engagement with no additional professional fee, charging only for incurred out-of-pocket expenses.
